Daisy Newsletter for Families--February 13, 2023

February 13, 2023

Dear Daisy Families,

Hope that everyone enjoyed a happy and healthy weekend!

I'm reaching out with great news---school meals (breakfast and lunch) will remain FREE TO ALL STUDENTS through the end of this school year!

The Connecticut General Assembly has voted to approve legislation to provide funds to extend free school meals through the remainder of this 2022-23 school year.

In other news, tomorrow, February 14, is Valentines Day and, as you've already heard from your child's classroom teacher, if your child would like to bring in Valentines cards, please be sure to send one for every classmate. It will be another day to spread kindness and love at Daisy : )

The Daisy PTO has asked me to share a link to a "Sign Up Genius" in case you'd like to send in a treat for staff members to enjoy for a Valentines Breakfast on Tuesday.  Here's the link:

Wishing everyone a great day and a wonderful week ahead!!!

Take care,

Daisy Family Newsletter---February 9, 2023

February 9, 2023

Daisy Families,

I am reaching out today to inform you of a change in our Daisy Health Office.  Nurse Kayla Johnson will be leaving the Westbrook School District, effective Friday, February 10, 2023.

We thank Nurse Johnson for her dedicated service to our students, families and staff and wish her the very best in her future endeavors.

We are fortunate to have secured the services of Nurse Caitlin Bialek as our new School Nurse.  With 10 years of clinical health experience, Mrs. Bialek has most recently served as School Nurse in Regional School District #17.  Nurse Bialek has spent the past week working alongside Nurse Johnson, getting to know our students and staff, as well as our district policies and protocols.

To reach our School Health Office, please email: cbialek@westbrookctschools.org or call 860-399-7925.

Please click on the link below to view a photo of Nurse Johnson (on the left) with Nurse Bialek in our School Health Office.

In other news, please know that tomorrow/Friday, February 10, will be FAVORITE SPORTS JERSEY SPIRIT DAY!

Students and adults--please feel free to wear your favorite sports jersey or shirt to school.  Many may be thinking of the upcoming Superbowl this weekend or they may want to wear something from any favorite sport or even some Westbrook Purple.

As always, please let me know any concerns.

Take care and be well,

Ruth W. Rose, Principal
