StoryLine Online

Storyline Online is a children's literacy website created by the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, which provides free storytelling videos and resources for parents and teachers to foster a love of reading in children. These read alouds stream imaginatively produced videos featuring celebrated actors reading children’s books alongside creatively produced illustrations. Storyline Online is available 24 hours a day for children, parents, and educators worldwide. For each book, supplemental curriculum developed by a literacy specialist is provided, aiming to strengthen comprehension and verbal and written skills for English-language learners worldwide.

Celebrating READING at Daisy School

This past week, we celebrated READING with a variety of themes and activities. We had KINDESS day, Dr.Seuss's Birthday, Crazy hat/hair day, Destination day and Dress-up as a book character day. All our students and staff had a fun filled week that promoted the love and importance of reading.

Take some time out of your day to celebrate reading with your child. Select a book to share or read on your own side by side. By setting an example our kids can look up to, we can all grow as great readers and great learners.

HELLO DAISY READERS

I hope that you are excited about all the new learning you will do this year. Yes, it may look a lot different this year but we can still find the magic in reading anywhere we are learning; at-home, in school, on the computer, in a Google Meet or even outside in the beautiful weather.

Here are a few places you can go to find some exiting stories and some resources for your parents who can help you with your reading this year.
